Exclamation Who's going to win the EPL?

Just for fun, who do you think is going to win it? Will Manchester United stumble at the last hurdle and allow Chelsea in the back door to sneak the title, or will Sir Alex have the boys out there fired up with his ex-player having his team out.. to not get injured..?

You have till half time in the EPL games to give your shout to who you think will win and at the end the true masters will prevail. I'll add a poll, but I'm going to screengrab it and have it edited in this first post at half time so people can't cheat.

Chelsea at home to Bolton should be safe. Man United at Wigan less so.

Both teams to hump the shit out of their opposition, Man Utd to win.

Re: Who's going to win the EPL?

As the great man himself would say, it's squeaky bum time. Hopefully despite what Steve Bruce has been saying in the media, his team won't be playing their hearts out on the field.

Equally I hope Fergie's comments get bolton suitably fired up to get into chelsea and even if they fail to get a result maybe rough up a few Chelski players for next week.

Also, I notice Man Utd have been consistently linked with a couple of Wigan players in the summer (Valencia and Palacios). What are the chances that any transfer fee may be inflated by whatever difference in League position bonuses Wigan may lose out on by not getting anything from today's game?

Finally, Man Utd finally securing a payout on the £50 i put on them at the start of the season would be a perfect start to my week's holiday.

Re: Who's going to win the EPL?

Wigan's form has picked up a bit, and big Heskey has remembered that he isn't THAT terrible a striker when he plays against big teams. They drew against Arsenal not so long ago, so a draw isn't too far out of the question and could you imagine Sir Alex Ferguson's face if his ex-player costs him the league title.

Re: Who's going to win the EPL?

I reckon there will be a bit of controversy with Wigan pretty much rolling over for United. Ex player in charge, the chairman has come out saying he wants United to win the title, and has some champagne for them - go figure.

Start a poll for next year before new signings etc are known. We should have some kind of wager. What I don't know. I have not thought this out yet!

Hmm, the transfer window is 1st of July till 31st of August, but sometimes some signings are made prior and that's when the players move. If only we could create multiple polls, or I could make one with a multi-select and hope people don't mess it up, for SPL winners and relegation, EPL winners and relegation.

Perhaps yourself or GreatKingRat could close the thread, and poll, on the 30th June?

Not a problem, you set up the thread(s) and we'll remember to sticky / close them.
