    westy elano will never start as for some reason he never does even though hes great if anyone gets dropped itll be de jong i reckon ireland was absolutely immense last season so if he got dropped itd be a travesty

    and i believe barrys contract was up in summ 2010 and thats why they took 12mil

    Well, if you look at it closely you'll see that when Chelsea bought their team, they bought defence as well as attack.

    At Newcastle they bought midfield and attack, but kept a diddy defence and manager and won fuck all.

    You can't just buy defence and a manager, that takes time/luck/good judgement.

    I've yet to see any of that from Man City.

    They've bought Kompany, Shay Given and Wayne Bridge, more will follow i'm sure. If anything they're doing it more gradually than Chelsea.

    None of the top 4 made a bid - Chelsea and Man Utd weren't interested, Arsenal didn't want to persue him and Liverpool decided to keep Xabi Alonso rather than bring in Barry.

    If Man City drop Dunne and Richards then they have a good defence. Wayne Bridge, Zabaleta, Onouha and Kompany are all good players and Given is a great keeper. Hughes is going about it the right way, they'll still have a lot more signings to come as well.
