He came on, he changed the game, that is what killed the game. Sometimes you talk about Ronaldinho and Eto'o and people like that; you need to talk about the proper footballer who made the difference, and that was Henrik Larsson tonight."

Brian Laudrup wasn't even the best player in the Laudrup family, why is name even mentioned here? Oh right, because as usual a fucking knuckle dragger can't stand any mention of football that doesn't revert back to his bigot brigade.

| Re: Long Live The King of Kings - Henrik Larsson Retires. I'd take him ahead of any player at Parkhead today.
Head and shoulders above the rest of Scottish Football during his time here.
"But it's Scottish football, it's not difficult", bleated fans in the big leagues.
Went to Barca, won the CL final almost single-handedly.
Went to Man U, and was pretty much their best player while there.
We should've retired the number 7 when he went. Quote:

Tams gave a reason why he thinks Henrik is better and its a good reason. So aye I can get that and can see where yer coming from. But I don't get it the "won more trophies" arguement Jaemi was giving. Especially when Laudrup had to retrire through injury.
I do think Laudrup was a better player by a bawhair. If you had to compare them together at their peaks (in a one off game for 90 mins), Laudrup would tick more boxes than Henrik. Faster, better skill, read the game better, better passer and so on.

| Re: Long Live The King of Kings - Henrik Larsson Retires. Sorry Westy, I forgot that you were a sensitive wee soul.
I agree that the "More trophies = better" argument is pretty flawed, but I also think that comparing two players in a hypothetical 90 minutes is pretty nonsensical. They're two different players, but I think Henrik's overall contribution to the world of football outweighs Laudrups.

| Re: Long Live The King of Kings - Henrik Larsson Retires. Well ill stick my feelings in on this one im sad to see the King of Kings hang up his boots (tho im happy he left Celtic when he did) as he was the total striker what any yong striker that ever wants to make it in the game (wether they sopport Rangers Celtic or any other team) thay should look at this guys career the way he conducted himself on and off the pitch should be what everyone aspires to
as to the Larsson vs Laudrup two totaly difrent players Celtic fans would pick Larsson Rangers fans would pick Laudrup because the memorys these two great players left us

| Re: Long Live The King of Kings - Henrik Larsson Retires. Larsson was one of the best in the business. Of course there are people who will say 'ah but he played in a shite league(spl) so you cant really tell how good he was'......doesnt matter what league he played in, he was fucking brilliant........end of(and a thoroughly fuckin decent gent off the pitch too!!)
Enjoy your retirement Henrik....you have more than deserved it!!!
Would be nice if he took up a job coaching for the Scottish national team. |
