Sent you a PM. No set tops though - seems to be whatever team you support!

Cheers! I'll see who of the team actually gets back with me - we generally just swap in and out in goal and I'm not sure anyone would volunteer to play there for a whole match.

Re: Charity 7s - boys vs girls

I'll have a wander down to The Pitches either tomorrow night or Saturday and see what they have to say about reducing or eliminating the £70 they charge for a 7s pitch were we to play a charity match there. I'll try to get someone who knows something about football to come with me so I can come back with more to say than 'it was nice'.

One of the girls that is playing has also suggested the charity she works for as one to support - they provide phone support to vulnerable adults, mostly elderly, in the greater Glasgow area. The name is escaping me just now, but she sent me a blurb that explains who they are and what they do; I'll get it off my computer at work tomorrow.

Re: Charity 7s - boys vs girls

You'd be suprised, the power leauge didn't charge for our work, but we work for a bank and it was the brittish heart foundation. They might want to have an offical person from that charity contact them i dunno, maybe that girl that works for a charity would be a good bet. If no jamie can pump whoever owns the pitches.

Re: Charity 7s - boys vs girls

The entire pdf file is two pages long, but here are a couple of excerpts from what my pal Nicky sent me re: the charity she works for:

Quote:
Good Morning Glasgow is a telephone befriending service which alerts to potential health problems when a call remains
unanswered. Current membership: 291older people. Our typical client is female, over 75 years old, has age related health
problems, and lives alone. Making over 75,000 Good Morning Calls annually we can expect to alert to around 70
unanswered calls, of which approximately 9 will require medical attention.
Quote:
Telephone Befrienders take time to listen to people and nurture trusting relationships – to be a 'friend on the phone'.
Befrienders regularly give emotional support eg when someone's cancer has returned or when a loved one or friend has
died. Our support builds resilience in members who feel more able to cope with life's changes and challenges. Having
good social networks and availability of social support is associated with higher levels of life satisfaction and happiness.2
To provide our service 365 days per year (in recognition that most services stop at the weekend or on public holidays) we
require paid staff. Staff are highly trained. We go further than fundamental communication skills and train our staff in
Mental Health First Aid, Applied Suicide Skills & Intervention Training and how to communicate with people with
dementia.Telephone Befrienders become part of a member's social network which, as recognised by the Public Health
Advisor, social networks act as a protective factor for the onset and recurrence of mental health problems (of adults of any
age). Members feel safer in their home and community. Thus 'additionality' is gained as people are more confident in, and
more able to live in their own homes for longer, reducing the need for residential care.
