| Provisional dates for the Euro2008 qualifiers. From the TAMB: Quote:
Scotland's full fixture list (provisional):
6 September - Scotland v France
7 October - Scotland v Italy
11 October - Lithuania v Scotland
15 November - Scotland v Faroe Islands
28 March 2007 - Ukraine v Scotland
22 August - Scotland v Georgia
8 September - Faroe Islands v Scotland
12 September - Scotland v Ukraine
13 October - France v Scotland
17 October - Georgia v Scotland
17 November - Scotland v Lithuania
21 November - Italy v Scotland
| No June games on Watty's orders, apparently, because it's so long after the end of the season. Means a seriously packed autumn next year though.
France at home to open with, and Italy away to finish with. Jeezo.

| Re: Provisional dates for the Euro2008 qualifiers. It's a good idea to get two of the hard games out the way first, but I hope we don't need anything going into the last game.

| Re: Provisional dates for the Euro2008 qualifiers. I do not like this 'one home game from the last 4' malarkey.
I'd take six points from the first 2 games though... |

| Re: Provisional dates for the Euro2008 qualifiers. Those dates aren't even confirmed yet. It's usually about 2 months before for SSC members and then a month or so before for everyone else, though.

| Re: Provisional dates for the Euro2008 qualifiers. You were gonna need to play the big two sooner or later so it's good to get them out the way but if we pick up 0 from 6 could put the team on a downer.

| Re: Provisional dates for the Euro2008 qualifiers. I dunno. I think no-one expects any better than draws out of the first 2 games, so it won't be too bad if we get beaten. I'm eyeing up a France/Georgia trip and maybe going to Italy as well. Anyone else travelling to the away games? |

Where possible, travel in groups and be aware of potentially threatening situations.
A British citizen was shot and killed in his home in Tbilisi on 2 December 2004. The Georgian authorities are currently investigating the murder. We urge you to review your personal security awareness and precautions. In this context, we also advise you to register your presence in Georgia with the Consular Section of the Embassy.
You are advised to be vigilant and take sensible precautions especially when travelling or walking alone at night as you also face the risk of being caught in attacks aimed at others. You should be careful, especially in public places. You should avoid going out or travelling after dark. Should you have to go out, carry a torch and go accompanied. While the electricity situation in Georgia has been better in 2004/05, power cuts still occur regularly.
Kidnapping
You should be aware of the high threat from kidnap. In June 2002, a British businessman was kidnapped in Georgia. It ended with his safe release after four months in captivity. The threat from kidnapping remains, but common sense precautions may reduce the risk. You should vary routes to and from work. Use a driver if possible. Keep doors locked while driving. Keep in regular contact with partners and friends. Consider calling in at agreed times each day. Where possible, drive along main roads. Consider with your employers and your family a "what if" action plan.
Local Travel
We advise against travel to the breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia and the Pankisi gorge beyond Akhmeta. There is a risk of military or police activity in these areas. Caution should also be exercised in the Zugdidi and Tsalenjikha districts of the Samegrelo region, which border Abkhazia. You should not attempt to enter or leave Georgia via the land borders with the Russian Federation (i.e. Dagestan, Chechnya, Ingushetia, North Ossetia) under any circumstances. You should be aware that there is a real threat of being caught up in any spill over from the Chechen conflict.
Extra precautions should be taken when travelling in the Svaneti Region and areas along the Russian-Georgian border. When travelling to, or through, these areas you are advised to increase vigilance, review personal security and take appropriate security measures. It is advisable to travel with a local guide or recognised tour operator and inform an appropriate person of your travel plans. | France and Lithuania are the two I'm targeting. If I win the lottery I'd do Italy, too.

Lithuania's apparently a shithole |
