Games Releases for July 2007

What's this I hear you ask? AltNation never used to list release dates and suchlike in such a concise and handy form!

No it certainly didn't, but as part of the ongoing changes, Ghostsuit, Papazeb, and myself will be bringing you a run-down of upcoming releases every month.

Ship Simulator 2008 (July 13th)

Ever wanted to captain the Titantic or a giant Container Ship? Well, this is your lucky month, because Ship Simulator lets you do just that from the comfort of your PC. The 2008 edition features new realistic waves and day/night transition.

Tom Clancy’s GRAW 2 (July 13th)

The successful squad based shooter finally makes it’s way on to PC. You and your team have to save the world from Mexican rebels in 2014. Features single and online multiplayer modes.

PaRappa the Rapper (July 17th)

A remake of the classic PlayStation rhythm game for the PSP, featuring additional levels and wireless online play. Noted for its music and 2D graphical style, this game is definitely a must-buy for those who still own a PSP and never picked up the original version of this.

Transformers (July 20th)

(See the thread about Transformers)

As a game being released on so many systems (PS2, Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, PSP, PC, Nintendo DS) I can't help but feel they're overextending on this summer blockbuster frenzy. The 2007 “Transformers: The Game” videogame on all systems (except for the DS) allows you to choose Autobots or Decepticons and follow the storyline of the film from that side's perspective. For the DS there are two separate versions Transformers: Autobots and Transformers: Decepticons that split the other systems games into two. Transformers: The Game, Transformers: Autobots, and Transformers: Decepticons hits every current generation platform and PS2 on July 20th

Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword (July 23rd)

In recent years, Firaxis have been releasing Civ expansion packs which add some basic mechanics that should have been in the original game and some new civilisations. Beyond the Sword is no different, allowing you more violence-free ways to conquer the world and 10 new civilisations — worth the money for Civ fans, but really should have been part of the core game.

Attack on Pearl Harbour (July 30th)

PC-only from Legendo Entertainment (Three Musketeers, Dracula Twins). I can’t quite lie about this stuff: the graphics appear adulterated and gameplay seems lukewarm in the trailers and videos I've seen, but I could be proven wrong by a surprise attack of solid gameplay. Attack on Pearl Harbour does exactly what it says on the tin - allows you to play through the WW2 attack. There is a PC demo — http://www.cdvusa.com/?section=downloads and the release date is July 30th

The Darkness (July 30th - PS3)

The latest FPS from Starbreeze Studios (Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay) based on the Top Cow comicbook of the same name. The Darkness is pretty notable for its seamless cut-scenes, mixing magic and conventional weapons, The Darkness was released June 29th for 360 and is due to be released July 30th for PlayStation 3.

Mario Strikers Charged (July 30th)

One of the first Wii games which supports online multiplayer. Control teams made up of your favourite Nintendo characters in five-a-side football. By all accounts a pretty good game.

Don't know if thats the PC trailer for GRAW 2. I assume they'll have designed it differently to the 360!

Aye, I couldn't find a PC specific trailer though. I'll have a look around a few other sites later.
