The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Let’s say one thing first—this game rocks. A lot. But it’s not perfect, so don’t believe everything the fan boys tell you.

Anyone who has read one of the countless reviews on the interweb about Oblivion knows how the game starts. In here you create your character—race, age and visual style. This bit of the game could have a review all to itself. Let’s just say that there’s no way two people are ever making the same character. You can actually have a go at making yourself if you feel like it; the face customisation is that damn good.

Once you’re done, the game starts with some nice racial abuse from another inmate—in my case, about my wife (he was a dark elf like me—I think if you’re another race he’ll taunt you about the way you look or...

Yeah I just noticed that , I'm still not sure I like it less realistic but I guess it helps alot.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I've found that Oblivion isnt holding my attention the way Morrowind did - true Oblivion improves on every aspect of the previous title, but somehow it feels 'dumbed down' and lacks depth. Thankfully the mod community is picking up speed and releasing some brilliant additions, including the almost essential BTMod which reworks that awful map and inventory

Hmm theres a quest you can get to remove the curse, I can't remember where I found out about it though. Think you ask in the church though.

Think theres a patch that made it easier, least I read that recently as they figured the original was a nightmare.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I think the quest made it fun since you actually HAD to deal with being a vampire till you completed it. To be fair, the original quests were buggy as fuck. I've stopped playing the game till I get a better rig and the games been tweaked to buggery.

THEN I'll go back and do it all.

You have to pay for that tho.

I really enjoyed playing as a vampire. As long as I remembered to feed regularly, it was ok. Some abilities like Hunter's Sight were really useful as well.

That said, I also really enjoyed the quest for the Vampire Cure, tho I never actually used it.
