Game and GameStation have been advertising that they won't make pre-orders on launch day.

That's why I went to a local game shop (CA Games) to get mine. I missed out on a first week pre-order by one place, but if someone cancels then I will get a first week pre-order. Otherwise I'm guaranteed a second week console, which still makes me happy.

Yuo are clearly bonkers, Turok 1&2 were oth awesome.

I may toddle in to Game and check what the score is tomorrow, i hve no fear of camping out overnight to get mine if it comes to it.

Meh. Have just realised even if I get my job theres pretty much no chance of me getting a Wii before the january sales

Last job I had was p/t to fund living costs in Manchester and it didn't leave much spare cash

See the stuff I generally do in Tech Support around here? Would you believe that's normally about 40quid an answer? (well, per hour, but I rarely require 15-30mins for a solution and implementation)

Pain in the ass sometimes, but it does guarantee me a Wii and some games for christmas

Well, my Wii is ordered from a nice store in Canada and if I've been successful in getting my hands on one, it'll be with me on November 22.

Then I have to wait a little longer for the Japanese launch so I can easily get my hands on some Component Video cables from Play-Asia.

I won't get mine til I come back up at christmas now. I've got it preordered in glasgow so had to arrange for someone else to pick it up for me.

Nintendo: No. The European Virtual Console will be available only to European machines. If you import an American machine they would have to connect to the American service and use American Wii Points cards to buy content. Their warranty would also be void so this is not recommended.

So if you import your system, be prepared to spend any money on the Virtual Console with Canadian currency and be locked down to those items. And since you void the warranty by importing a Wii, if you use the VC heavily and then the system breaks - it's not Nintendos responsibility to get you your games back on your new console.
