| Black Mesa Source For those that haven't been following it, Black Mesa Source is a third party recreation of the original Half Life on the source engine with a fitting graphical overhaul, as Valve only ported the original graphics to the source engine.
Anyway, the BMS team have finally released a short trailer showing some of the environments http://files.filefront.com/BlackMesa.../fileinfo.html
And the rest of the site is worth swatching for the pure sex of how it all looks.
They have not given any release date other than 'when it's ready'. www.blackmesasource.com |

| Re: Black Mesa Source Well, it's by a third party so unlikely, though you will need HL2 to play it, though it's not a planned steam release.
Saying that, valve seem to be fully behind the guys making this mod, even if unofficially, so they could well pick it up and distribute it for them, can't say i've had any problems with steam for a long time though, and even then it was just minor annoyances that have long since been fixed. |

| Re: Black Mesa Source Aye, but steam only works if, well, you have broadband, which i dont, so i cant use ANY game on Steam (im just assuming its impossible to download to another PC and transfer) due to this i have never played HL2, despite having an original copy at home *sulk*

It better be released soon. | I'd be unsurprised if it was another year or so before we see a release, but hey, it's not like these guys are getting paid or working to a deadline.
They're apparently going to make a few changes throughtout the game to keep it feeling a bit fresher than just a graphics overhaul, which is a brave move considering how rabid the fanbase will be if they fuck it up. |
