Scariest game ever??

what was the game that scared u the most? any platform/genre/whatever

coming off my thread about playing F.E.A.R alone at night, i thought id see what games scared the shit out of u all.....and what bits in particular!

Snatcher on Sega Mega CD, the bit where u go to that girls apartment but no-one is home, yet when u leave and wander into the street and look up at her window, her light flickers on, scared me to fuck.......i was young!!!

Condemned had some fucked up moments!!

Res Evil 1 when that dog jumped through the window for the first time....thats what 'pause' buttons were made for!

Nemesis when u ran through a door to safety only to find the cunt could come through doors! Terrifying.

Res Evil 4 in the boat in the lake simply cuz i have a fear of deep dark water!

Doom 3 was scary simply because of the lighting effects and that whole switching between gun and torch malarkey!

But the worst game to really scare the fuck right out of me.....Silent Hill 2.......the whole fucking thing!

and F.E.A.R cuz im playing it right now!

im sure there are loads more so go on.....whats yours? im sure some peoples answers will jog my memory to others iv played and been equally scared at!

(and mentioning how the Grand Scale of "Oblivion" scared the hell outta u isnt an option!!)

The only time I remember jumping at a game was when the first headcrab attacked in half life...

Oh that and the bathtub bit in eternal darkness on the game cube.

Silent Hill 1, 2, 3, 4. Christ, most of 2 can be played with me gnawing on a thumbnail

Half-Life 2 gave me a few "AH FUCK DIE DIE DIE DIE" moments, and Clive Barker's 'Undying' wins creep factor points.

silent hill 2 was one of the longest games iv ever played simply cuz i walked through it at snails pace quivering at every shadow my shitty wee torch threw at me.

remember the bit where u first get the torch and that shadow of the dress stand!?.......wet myself!

and when u first see pyramid head through the bars!

or when he comes up behind u in his lair?

worst bit has to be all the hanged men in that room! you are just waiting for one to move!!!

I remember absolutely shitting myself while playing the Giger-influenced "Dark Seed" on the Amiga as a kid. It looks hella cartoony nowadays, but back then I don't think I managed to ever play this for more than 10 minutes at a time without having to switch it off.

i remember playing through silent hill with a friend from school. we were up all night, scared the bejesus out of me.

You're all gonna piss yourselves, but I was terrified of bits of Echo on the Gamegear when I was a kid, namely the killer whales, and the octopus. I had to turn it off.

The remake of Resident Evil 1 on the cube made me shit bricks.
Also, several bits of half life 2, specifically the underground part in episode 1, waiting for a lift in the dark. Jesus christ. And I played it before they reduced the number of zombies attacking.

Half Life 1 used to scare me when those little face hugger type buggers would jump out at you from nowhere.

I should really dig that out and reinstall it.

If you've got Steam on your computer, then you can just feed the security codes from the original Half-Life games into it and download them.
