NiGHTS - Journey of Dreams (Wii exclusive) -- confirmed

Translated from a French gaming magazine apparently - I've been watching the rumour mill chew this one up for the last 6 months but everything's sorta been coming to a boil with some talk of a major Sega announcement this month. Looks like the French may have spoiled the surprise.

If this news came out a couple of days later I wouldn't believe, so massive it is. I bought a Saturn just for NITD, I'll buy a Wii just for a sequel

There's been about 3-4 different magazines here in the US talking this game up for the last few months, some going as far as to state loudly in their April issues "NOT AN APRIL FOOLS"

The last credible rumour I heard came from the original's Wiki, where it states

"NiGHTS Wii is the sequel to NiGHTS into Dreams... for the Wii. The game will make use of the motion sensing controller, just like initially planned for Air NiGHTS, and have the same colorful graphics-style of the original game. The game will also feature a multiplayer mode for 2 players, and online play, as well as see the return of characters Claris Sinclair and Elliot Edwards.

Takashi Iizuka, one of the designers of the original game, is the director of the game, and Sonic Team is developing the project."

But then it's a Wiki, I refused to actually get too excited about it.

Confirmed, titled, and dated by Famitsu magazine in Japan and several other sources carrying the news.

This is proof there is still good in this world

I've been anticipating this since I first placed NITD back in high school, it's a superb game and I expect the Wiimote will be an excellent control mechanism for the sequel

I may be alone in actually kinda liking the PS2 EyeToy version of NiGHTS.

First leaked news on this is revealing a link to the Wii Weather channel and then bringing the weather in your home location to the inside of the game (numerous sources, can't find an original atm)

That would be sweet, and a good follow up to the A-Life system. I remember the first time I played Christmas NiGHTS and witnessed some lovely little quirks

There's also a joke somewhere in this about wetting the bed.
