The Lamb Of God cover was the worst. Vocals on that one were horrific.

Re: Guitar Hero III

As we get closer and closer to the weak-sauce E3 this year, Guitar Hero III news is all over the place - including pics of the new guitar /yawn

I've uploaded images of the Guitar Hero III guitar and the Rock Band guitar side-by-side here. Let's quickly run down both of them.

GH3:
Looks drab and uninspired with nothing new - like a cheap Korean knock-off of a GH1 or GH2 guitar. What is with those in-laid buttons? It's like web-design circa 98ish when everything was beveled.
More detailed look here - http://kotaku.com/gaming/les-paul/be...tar-265409.php

RB:
* - 3/4 scale-size Fender Stratocaster with almost invisible fret-buttons. Unsure how I like this compared to the traditional bright and obvious colours (though from the top-down view of some of the demo units, it looks like the colours are obvious and outspoken when viewed from where you'd be holding the guitar)
* - Total of ten fret-buttons (twin sets of 5) with the traditional five up by the nut and a new additional five where the traditional cut-away is on the Stratocaster guitar. These are rumoured to be operated without picking, for huge combos of hammer-ons and pull-offs.
* - The Stratocaster five-way switch is used to activate effects pedals with favourite pedal maker BOSS having a bit of say and licensing in the game.
* - backwards compatible with GH1/2/80s

Re: Guitar Hero III

Absolutely sweet fuck all compared to ROCK BAND's one downloadable ALBUM per week. The GH franchise stagnated with the sale, might as well have turned it over to EA (Mind you, it's not bad if all you want is Guitar Hero again and again with new songs and paying £40 for 40-50 new songs every 12 months)

Also, Guitar Hero 2: Encore the 80s edition was a waste of money

Re: Guitar Hero III

They should make 'Guitar Hero - Stoner Edition' with stuff you can lay on the floor and play, lots of tracks from Sunn O))) that you just have to hold notes and play with the wammy bar..

Damn, the Hellacopters and Backyard Babies? Got for them for making the cut, shame they likely won't be in the North American version... stupid localisation!

Incorrect - they specifically added a lot of UK/Euro songs for this release of Guitar Hero.

This does not, however, make it interesting enough to beat Rock Band imo, which will proceed to rip this game's arms off and beat it to death with its own arms.

Wow, seriously? That's pretty cool. The changes to the track listings of various versions of other rhythm/music games depending on locale has driven me up the wall since coming here, with my "British" idea of classic anthems being quite different from the "North American" idea. Good to see this happening.

Re: Guitar Hero III

Gallows + Kaiser Chiefs = DUD

That Dragonforce tune is going to be fucking solid but. Jeff's correct that Rock Band is going to be superior, but I'm still way into this shit too.
