| Re: Guitar Hero III Oww oww oww.
A few folks that have had the chance to have a proper play-through of GH3 are comparing GH3 Hard to GH2 Expert levels...I laughed at it thinking nothing could bother me with running through GH3 on hard...I mean, medium was nothing (five starring everything, anyways..must go back and 100% the damn things though I fear Slayer will be the death of me) and I flew through the first 20 or so songs on Hard 4 and 5-starring things.
And then I came to Slipknot and Disturbed. Who alternately spanked me, sent me to bed without dinner, and then raped my sister before causing intense forearm muscle pain. It's hard as hell - loving this game so far, loving it, loving it, loving it. (and is a nice break from Assassin's Creed this weekend before that game drives me insane hunting down flags) |

| Re: Guitar Hero III Have played it now with the PS2, Wii, and 360 controls (branded controllers from game makers, not 3rd party peripherals. PS2 wired controller from GH1, 360 and Wii wireless from GH3)
Overall I'd say the best feeling system to play it on right now is the 360. The guitar feels just about right - for lower levels I play the strum bar like a slap-bass, smacking away with my thumb to the beat, and there's just enough tension on the strum bar for it not to spring back when it's returning to the rest position and play another note.
I kept losing at drunken guitar battles last week to folks because of this bad habit I have on the Wii guitar - the Wii guitar does not have enough tension on the strum bar, and I'd end up playing double notes half the time and not comprehending why.
The Wii controller just doesn't seem to hang right, there's not enough weight to it, and the cut-out groove in the guitar body where the Wiimote goes (providing power and tilt sensation as well as wireless communication to the Wii) doesn't let me rest my hand squarely on the guitar body for serious strumming. Puts my hand at a weird angle and I come away from it thinking some left-handed bastard designed the Wii guitar.
PS2 I've had for a bit over 2 years now, it also feels "just right" but the online potential kept me away from a PS2 version. |

| Re: Guitar Hero III Unfortunately, i only have a PS2 at the moment, so it'll be that version i'm going to get.
I want a wireless guitar for it as well, but i've heard the PS2 wireless guitar that comes with the GHIII package is the worst of the lot.

Onwards to Expert! (Through Fire and Flames? Aye right...I've got no hopes of getting more'n halfway through expert by the looks of things) |

| Re: Guitar Hero III Completed Hard on my first run through, only failed the final battle, completed every other song first time, mostly by luck.
Then completed medium, 5 starred every song. Moved on to expert and i cant get past Befor I Forget. I have completed the other 3 but Before I Forget I get to 99% and fail. Everytime. Seriously.
