| Speedball 2 coming to Xbox 360 Live Arcade
Someone’s finally doing it. The original 2D Speedball 2, well the Megadrive version anyway, ported to Live Arcade with the usual High-def graphic sheen and online multiplayer. Story here

This was originally slated for August, so is now late … but it’s finally coming.
I’m told it has appeared for download on Partnernet (the XBox 360 beta testing network), and by all accounts plays very well. Fast, smooth, etc. There’s two versions—updated HD graphics and ‘classic’ style. The updated version looks rubbish, so everyone’s online playing the classic version on Partnernet.
It’s scheduled for proper release to us proles October 2nd. Two weeks today.

It was put back a month or so, but the press release came in today … Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe comes to Xbox 360 Live Arcade next Wednesday, 17th October. 800 Microsoft Points. I’m seriously debating booking the day off work.

Woo-hoo!
Downloaded this in my lunch break and squeezed in a couple of online matches before heading back to work. It’s brilliant. Total success. You can play online with the graphics mode switched to ‘classic’, which is all I really wanted.
Now then, let’s get an AN league going.
