| Re: Manhunt 2 banned in the UK They're saying no adults at all should be able to play it. There's no difference between 18 and 21 in law AFAIK. |

| Re: Manhunt 2 banned in the UK Its only volutary if the game does not show sexual or violent acts depicting realistic looking humans or animals. Games which dont show this kind of thing are exempt and usualy end up with a voluntary ELSPA rating, overseen by the VSC.
Any game which does have the type of content described above, or which contains non-interactive video clips or movie segments, must be rated by the BBFC before it can go on sale. This is a legal age rating just like on movies.
Alot of games used to be exempt so you rarely saw a legal rating. I think the first ones I remember seeing were the original Grand Theft Auto on PSX (still looked like an Amiga game though) for obvious reasons, and one of the Wing Commander games, because of all the film footage used in it.
These days with all the graphical improvements and current fetish for mature content, most games have to be passed by the BBFC. No rating, no selling.

| Re: Manhunt 2 banned in the UK Here's a list of films which have been refused certification: http://www.melonfarmers.co.uk/rejected.htm
Almost all rejected due to sex scenes, nothing about dark 'tones'. |

| Re: Manhunt 2 banned in the UK Rumours are that it will be released in the next couple of weeks or months. What you have to ask is what did Rockstar say they'd do to the game or have already done to get a release?
