BioShock Chat + Videos

I'm starting to get reasonably hyped up about this. The gameplay looks amazing and like it will have a good bit of replay value.

These two developer videos from GameTrailers take a good look at the combat and the environment and how the player uses them. Beautiful looking game.

This could be downright awesome, but I'm still somewhat concerned about the boner developers have for HDR and Bloom lighting these days. It might seem like a minor niggle, but I really hope there's at least an option to tone that down - right now I feel the atmosphere of the game is being spoiled a little by big shiny things.

Much in the same way that MGS4 is 'meant' to be coming out for the PS3.

It'll probably be announced for the PS3 eventually, but it might not be.

Also, there's a rather nice new trailer up, and a demo is now available from XBLM - which I can't play, because my Xbox is a hundred miles or so away from me just now

Well i thought that MGS4 was an exclusive to the PS3. Thing is though a lot of games are going to crossover because of production costs and they'll want a tidy profit from the games.

Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo often pay developers for exclusives - for example Microsoft paid Rockstar and Take 2 $50 Million to develop exclusive episodic content for GTA IV.

It is - Konami execs have been repeatedly stating that it is a PS3 exclusive. Despite many rumours to the contrary.

I'm actually not too impressed with some of the videos and pictures of Bioshock. I think they are just over hyping it. But I guess time will tell.

On a side note: How fucking cracking is the Stranglehold demo?

I've seen two reviews of it so far - one giving it 100% and the other 97% (Xbox and PC versions respectively). Those kind of scores bode well for it. And the hype over it is distracting from Halo 3 at least

I'm fucking sick of the hype over it.

Hopefully won't be too long before they release it. The Press gumpf for it said that it'll be out later in the month due to technical difficulties.

Hype or no hype - this is the spiritual successor to System Shock and System Shock 2. On those words alone am I sold (Also the capability to act like a South-Parkian Chris Reeves and snack on the brain-juices of young children to enhance your own superpowers seems pretty freaking twisted for a video game these days)

Aye. I'm amazed that no tabloid rag/fundamentalist group/OTT parents group has picked up the fact that you can kill small children in it yet (even if they are horribly disfigured genetic mutants). The killings of them do take place off screen though (as far as I know).
