From the BBC: Quote: A cut price PlayStation 3 (PS3) with a smaller hard drive and no backwards compatibility with previous consoles goes on sale later this month.
The £299 PS3 has a 40-gigabyte hard disk and will be released in Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.

The rumours about this machine have been floating about for a few months now. Personally, I put it down to rumour and nothing more, but what do I know.
I wouldn't bother touching this - The PS1 and 2 have a massive back catalogue, which I would like to play on the third iteration of the PlayStation. The price drop on the 60Gb model is good news though. |

You can get pretty good packages, which work out cheaper than that anyway....I'm fairly sure.
