Ye olde Soul Calibur from the Dreamcast was launched on Xbox Live Arcade today. It’s great, but there’s no online multiplayer. That’s being saved for SC4. All it has online are leaderboards. If you’ve got two working 360 pads at home though, go for it. Works like a charm. Plenty of info on it here.

I fired through the arcade mode using Kilik as soon as it downloaded. Unlocking all the characters and finding out what the achievements are for will definitely be enough to keep me going for a month.

I started firing through story mode last night, to get some characters unlocked before I try going online. Only two or three more characters to play through it with this evening, then it’s time to head for the character creation mode to ‘buy’ the rest.

I quite like Yoda as a character, now that I’ve tried him. It’s handy when half your opponent’s attacks swoosh right over your wee head. Makes up for his woefully inadequate reach.
