I'm still trying to get my copy working because my KEY seems to be invalid. Fuckers!!! Played the Beta though and it's an interesting take, lot of blood some nice combat ideas but the classes are pretty unbias at the moment.

Don't really fancy this, was never into WoW and this just looks like a clone that they've stamped CONAN on. |

Theres certainly some nice ideas in this one while still keeping many of the elements that have made WoW such a success, wither they or the story/enviroment are good enough to carry this game though is the real questions. They do obviously have alot of back story material to work with much like LOTR:O had so there might be hope for this, then again the 1000 of L33t kiddies will probably ruin it .

For the most part it seems to be the people who want a casual MMO that are finding Conan hard to deal with, whilst more hardcore players are salivating at the chance to try something new.

| Re: Age of Conan MMO I'm interested in this game, but like Tabula Rasta, I'm not wanting to pony up for a full version before trying it out. Just have to wait until they release a trial for it.
The hardware requirements are pretty high as well, which will loose them a lot of older MMO fans who haven't seen the need to upgrade.
Also, apparently Funcom mucked up the way the client and server communicated and have a lot of client side processing, which is firstly doing things on the cheap and secondly opening the game to a load of exploits. It's possible to increase your run seep massively and 'teleport' yourself from one place to another and no doubt further exploits will keep coming to light.

| Re: Age of Conan MMO I pre ordered this game as a group of my friends from WoW all went casual along with me, we have all been playing the early access.
We are all enjoying it alot, the combat system takes about an hour to get used to, but once you do its much better. You feel way more involved that just right clicking and watching you character do his thing.
The addition of a single player for the first 20 levels as well its really great, gives a wee bit of a story to your character. Pvp is all free for all so you cant just walk up to an enemy that a character is hitting and just start hitting the enemy yourself, doing this will cause you to hit the other player as well because all enemys / players in range of your swing will get hit.
The downside is the size of the game and the graphics. They are great graphics but you really do need a bit of a beast of a pc to run it well.
In my opinion, overall its a great game. The quests aint too hard there are alot less idiots in the game at the moment as everyone is just trying to level. There is plenty to keep you interested. |
