| Burnout Paradise (PS3, 360) - Now With Added Patch & Future Content Goodness anyone else bought this yet? i got it on friday and im in love. it looks stunning. it plays really well, and it'll last forever thanks to the new Showtime modes.
online play is amazing as well. the only thing i dont like is if you fail a race, you cant restart and have drive back to where you started from. other than that, a definite thumbs up

| Re: Burnout Paradise I’m unconvinced. Played the demo for a couple of hours and felt that there was not enough connection between the car and road … it’s got that old Out Run floaty car vibe, which really put me off.
I’m sticking with PGR4, I think. Each to their own though.

| Re: Burnout Paradise tbh i wasnt impressed with the demo either, but once you get the full city it feels much better
i moved from forza 2 onto burnout, and it takes a few hours to get used to it but i think its worth it. if you liked the previous burnout games, then you'll like it
like you said, different strokes..

| Re: Burnout Paradise I adore this game.
I played the demo too, and agree it felt a bit floaty, but the full game doesn't. I'm delighted with it.

| Re: Burnout Paradise I like the game, but the extended crashtime EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU FUCKING CRASH gets on my nerves far too quickly. Other complaints I've heard were that you can't control the crashtime unlike older games, and that if you fail a burning route you don't get the option to start over, but rather have to drive all the way back to the beginning which is a pain in the arse and a waste of time.
I've not had a chance to play it online yet - it looks like fun, though. |

| Re: Burnout Paradise Um, you can control crashtime, admittedly only marginally in standard play (though i can usually land the car on its wheels, for a driveaway), but in showtime crash mode you can control the car with ease, bouncing it around like a really, um, bouncy thing.
I will admit I was initially disappointed by the lack of restart for failed races, but i quickly discovered that the drive back was just as event filled as the drive there, meaning i've found far more events / breakables / shortcuts than I otherwise might have.

The PS3 already has Pro Street, it doesn't appear to need this at all. |

| Re: Burnout Paradise It was nice getting something for nothing with the demo, but I'm not sure it's worth my money. 3 was still the kind for me, and I'm not sure if GTA-ing it was the right thing to do for a game focused on times and scores. If it's reduced, I might give it a whirl.

the car you get for completing it left me a tad disappointed. There's one or two songs I now can't hear though without thinking ah. burnout revenge
/ sad bastardness
someone please tell me they've reduced the amout of crash events you have to complete. There was far too many in Revenge and it did my bloody head in. |

there are no crash events. instead you get to blow up yr car and spend as long as you can trying to crash the wreckage into other cars to get £. its really addictive
i've found all the events, crashes and billboards now, and have done 200+ of the online challenges and racked up a 42hour playtime so far. i need a life..
