| Re: Games To Look Out For In 2008 I cannot stress just how fucking WORTH IT this game is. And i'm only 25% through Subspace Emissary after 2 1/2 hours. So, so much fun.
Subspace is phenomenal. Pretty much every character has a part to play in it. And some of the videos are straight-up hilarious the first time you see Luigi in particular and a couple made me 'AWW' like fuck Pretty much everything involving Lucas so far, and when you first see Pikachu. Just, wow. The co-op in SE works great as well.
Spoiler-ish, the only characters that haven't appeared for me yet: Sonic, Captain Falcon, Falco, Ice Climbers, Lucario, Olimar, G&W, Toon Link, Snake (though there was a shot of a box moving around earlier as a total tease), and Ganondorf's literally just appeared for 2 seconds.

| Re: Games To Look Out For In 2008 One more thing - there's like 4 different ways to unlock all of the characters, just incase you're stuck doing it one way. Right, i'll stop gushing for now.

| Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii) It's not out over here yet. Me thinks Brett got his hands on an import copy It's due April 30th according to Amazon.
I split these posts from the 'Games To Look Out For' Thread, as SSBB is clearly awesome enough to warrent a thread to it's-self.

| Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii) Yeah, i've bagged an import along with a Wii Freeloader.
11 hours in, and the only characters we haven't got are Wolf and Jigglypuff, and once i get them i think it'll then take it to 84%. Those two for the record, if you're getting them via the Subspace Emissary, are a bitch. A fucking bitch. Once i've got them i'll get online, and report accordingly. I've 'completed' Subspace, though you have to scour through all the stages to find doors you haven't opened etc. to get 100%.
Little other things - The HomeRun challenge is back, and there's a forcefield preventing you from knocking the bag off early (provided you don't test the barrier too many times). It's also available in multiplayer, with you both combining to get as much damage as possible on the poor bastard. The Sandbag is also an item that appears in battle. Item overload btw, there's fucking tons. They've toned down on the Pokeballs this time around 'cause they just have too many different items.
Great characters to play as - MetaKnight (definitely the most impressive), King DeDeDe, Snake, Diddy Kong, and i'm a sucker for Lucas.

| Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii) I'm not having any problems at all, my friend was having a problem with up in the nunchuk analog being a bit too sensitive, leading to jumping too early/often. Easily turned off, though. It's not a necessity for you to have to flick the wiimote to perform smash attacks either, i prefer just left on the analog and A. There's that many different ways and methods to play this game it'll be flatout impossible for you not to enjoy it.
Now got all the characters, played a couple of online games (about 10 seconds of lag at the start, but i'd probably give that due to my mate's broadband connection), but absolutely no major problems/glitches to speak of. Now papping through Event mode.

| Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii) Mine just arrived this morning, I'm loving it. It reminds me of when I first played Smash Bros Melee, it takes a little while for you to click and to start interpreting what the hell is going on, and the controls are taking me a little bit of getting used to as well. But I can see me spending a LOT of time with this.
Edit: forgot to mention, I'm using the Classic Controller. Quote: |
Yeah, i've bagged an import along with a Wii Freeloader.
| That actually came out? Cool, I have a US Wii but that'd be handy for the odd game borrowing with friends. |

| Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii) Aye, hang the fuck on! The real news here is that THERE'S A WII FREELOADER OUT?? How the shit did this not come to my attention sooner than now? Here I am waiting for UK releases of all the good games like a fucking busta, JESUS. Nintendo will probably release a firmware update that renders it impotent anyway by the time I buy one now. |
