| GameBoy Advance are they any good? i noticed in game station the other day that they were only £35 for a pre-owned one. im loathed to spend alot on something i wont use all the time, but i would like a wee hand held doodly.
can you get decent games for them? is is worth it? the next cheapest thing was a pre owned DS which was £65, far too much IMO.

| Re: gameboy advance GBA's a great handheld system as long as we're talking about the SP and not the original:
the SP is a flip-top design - http://www.gadget-crazy.co.uk/shop/images/ps2red.jpg , the original - http://www.emulanium.com/images/gba-b.gif
Nice thing about getting the GBA for someone who is looking out for money is that when you get ready to move up to a DS, the games can be used on the DS (the Nintendo DS has a GBA game slot)
I ran my GBA into the ground before the DS came out - plenty of great games. |

| Re: gameboy advance The only reason I had (for a VERY short while) a GBA original was to play Hamtaro: Hamhams unite It was ok but I rekon going for an SP would be the thing to do now.

I ran my GBA into the ground before the DS came out - plenty of great games. | it was flip top one i was looking at. how much would a game set me back? and what ones are good? im fairly easy when it comes to what kind of games to play. i like arcade ones, shooty ones, adventure ones....
i just about had a heart attack looking at some game prices. £45 for some PS3 game! i dont even spend that on a winter coat!
can you tell im totally not a gamer?

| Re: gameboy advance The GBA library is pretty big. Plenty of NES/SNES remakes (Super Mario 1, 2, 3, Super Mario World, Metroid, etc), some great original games (Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap) and plenty of arcade/shooty ones.
The Castlevania series of games may be more up your alley on the GBA - plenty of adventuring there. |

| Re: gameboy advance Games aren't too expensive for them, i think GForce has some but dunno their prices as they still have boxes etc. but if you ask in most GameStations they have a cabinet with retro and usually have lots of unboxed gba titles at £7.99 oor 2 for £15 |

Even on the high end of the GBA price spectrum you're looking at £15, and thats in cases like GForce, where you can still get brand new GBA games and rarer ones

| Re: gameboy advance Fenn, just get a DS and a R4 card and dl all the games you ever want to play. Am I going to get a telling off for this? I haven't been on the forum for so long.
I think you can get R4 cards for the Gameboy as well actually, if that's what the big ass thing that came with my DS thing is, you can have mine's. |
