Though I do agree the close combat could swing the game either way.

1 was a wan playthru effort (admittedly i done it on the hard difficult with 3 mates and thouroughly enjoyable) but it had too many bad points (shite,useless weapons bar like 2 of em, rubbish multiplayer besides the co op, not long enough, looked like a game from 3 generations ago)
and 2 doesnt seem to look like its improved on matters, and added in my BIGGEST pet peeve in first person shooters = adding in rubbish melee, i think the "fire bullets" etc bullshit will also ruin the atmosphere the first had, which is a shame because for me all the first one had was atmosphere other than that it felt like thrown together mod for half life 1
dont think ill be arsed picking it up this time, cod out in a week + dragon age

played through the demo a few times now on various levels singular and multiplayer and thus far all its doing is reinforcing my wanting this game. the melee addition is good and rather than detracting from the gameplay adds to it as you have to sacrifice your pistol for it and ammo seems to be a bit scarecer as i found on a couple of occations that all i had was a frying pan to fight my way through the infected horde. also the "director" seems to random it up as much as poss (mind you that was only from 2 levels) but it does add a bit of uncertainty, there are regular collection points but what you find there isnt always the same. as is with the special infected.
the infected are working more as a team, in one occation a charger/spitter/horde combo pretty much decimated us. the addition of the gauntlet type momment was pretty damn cool.
its still going to be one for multiplayer as the AI can be a bit of a frustration espessially in expert mode when friendly fire does a lot of damage and they walk into your line of fire.

Aye playing the demo on the pc, you got it for the xbox? Its really good, i was worried when people kinda slated it on here, but its more of the same from previous. And you're right the melee option dont take anything away from the "THERE IS FUCKING HUNNERS" moments. It adds more fun. | |

Yep X-box, enjoyed mucking about withe the melee weapons, machette being my fave for effect but its still tied between the frying pan and the guitar for laughs. also any concerns about the expansion of the weapons/bombs/medical is gone as you can still only carry one of each item, agin just adds a bit more of a tactical ellement to it.
plus i got to defib someone
