| Star Wars: Republic Commando If you're looking for a new Xbox or PC game I can thoroughly recommend this. It's a great game. I'm not quite finished it yet because it seems to be a pretty big game for an FPS. I've enjoyed this alot more than other games of late, such as Chronicles of Riddick, (which was good also).
Well worth a look in.

| Re: Star Wars: Republic Commando I'd actually say this is a better single player game than Halo 2. There are scenes in this game that are very memorable and the fighting can get so intense. Even on normal it's not an easy game, there are literally hoardes of enemies coming at you all the time.
I love the death system in this game too. It really adds to the tension. When you 'die' you don't simply die and restart from the last save. Instead you are sort of knocked unconcious and continue to view the action from the ground. You then have three options: you can let you squadmates continue to battle on in accordance with your last orders, you can load a save or you can order one of your teammates to abandon position. This gets really intense because in a big battle you have to decide whether it would be best to let your teammates fight on in the hope they can defeat the enemy and get a chance to come revive you, or you could choose to get back into battle right away in the knowledge that your teammate may be killed while exposing themselves in an attempt to revive you.
The AI in this game is outstanding. Your team don't do anything stupid, the wayfinding its immense and their capabilities pitched perfectly. They're not so brilliant as to do all the work for you but without them you'd have no chance.

| Re: Star Wars: Republic Commando It's really very good. I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I should point out I'm playing the Xbox version.
BTW 'idle' I'm afraid that means you need a better graphics card mate.

| Re: Star Wars: Republic Commando Wasn't overly impressed with the game. Looks like a poor quality conversion to the PC like Halo.
The idea of commanding a small squad is pretty good, but just doesn't work out as well as expected.

| Re: Star Wars: Republic Commando I went and bought this today instead of the Doom 3 expansion. After playing KOTOR2 for the last few days and loving it, I was so disappointed. The team is just annoying. Would have prefered a Call of Duty type game where you were part of a squad.
I'll give it a few days tho. Altho swapping it for Doom 3 expansion sounds like a plan... |
