A system having problems before its released isnt an issue really.

Wouldn't surprise me. Despite the BS I doubt there's really much power difference between the PS3 and 360. It will still be years before we see the true potential of either console anyway. I was playing Far Cry Instincts last night on the original XBox an I'm still blown away by the quality of the graphics they've managed to push out of such modest hardware.

It is when the company has made bold claims about the supposed performance gap between its own machine and that of its main competitor without being able to show any games running in real time to demonstrate said gap. If they subsequently have to scale down the PS3's performance to compensate for issues then that just leaves them with egg on their face.

Sony don't have to worry, people will buy it without comparing it to that 360 - I for one definitely will be. When it comes to purchases the vast majority of consumers won't look at the specs between the two and I think that for Microsoft to overturn Sony's dominance it'll take another 1 or 2 machines. Microsoft will looking to get closer to Sony's share of the market, they haven't got a hope in overtaking it though.
As long as it's working when it's released, I couldn't really care.
Are Sony still making up fake pre-rendered CG "screen grabs" of games?
Microsoft Operating Systems riddled with bugs still outsells Mac OS.. go figure.
the development and testing stage is meant to have problems. It wouldnt be right if it didnt
Like Siberia, remission is a silent journey across no man’s land, and it’s not always easy to take it alone.'

Don't make me start posting King Kong screenshots, XBox fanboys...
Japan release for the PS3 is Aprilish, it should be getting a playable release version at this years Comdex in Las Vegas next week (I'll be trying to blag passes in there but doubt I can get *more* time off work) so I'd expect more serious reviews before the 15th of January. (and a 2007 release for the UK PS3...ick)
All I can say in the 360/ps3 comparisons at this stage is simply....how can someone defend a product that had a 3% failure rate on release week?![]()
