| The X-Box 360 Games Thread (Moaning, Chatter, Hype & Release Dates) So, GRAW & Oblivion are must-haves. Got them. Now when I get bored of shooting Mexicans & getting lost in Tamriel what do I do? Apart from yet more FPS's (Condemned, Perfect Dark Zero, Call of Duty 2 & Battlefield 2), which I'm not in the mood for & Top Spin 2 (a tennis game will never be worth £50 to me...unless it has Andy Murray screaming "FUCKING CUNT!" in it) nothing is really taking my fancy. I'm off EA Sports games until the '07 batch arrives, so that rules out Madden NFL, NBA Live, Fight Night Round 3, Road to FIFA World Cup & Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf. And there's no need to buy games like Dead or Alive 4 or Burnout: Revenge because we've already played them a year ago.
I went and bought the Halo multipack just because I'd like to see what I missed out on in the Single Player modes, I wasn't planning on depending on the Halo games & Hexic to give me something different. (Actually, any other X-Box Live Arcade games worthy of a download?).
When is the next good game coming out!? I did research upcoming games for the 360 before buying it and there's a few meaty ones incoming this year and beyond (Dead Rising, Gears of War, Saint's Row, Resident Evil 5, APB) but they're not soon enough!
And per-lease contain yer 360 gaming pants in this thread so we don't need to keep subscribing to inane, cruddy threads made by the prolesrandom forumers. Aight!? I want my, I want my, I want my three six-teeeeeeeee... (to be on 24 hours a day). |

| Re: The X-Box 360 Games Thread (Moaning, Chatter, Hype & Release Dates) I disagree with every game mentioned up there. None of ’em hold any interest for me at all. I don’t like FPS games or RPGs and sports sims do nothing for me. Dead or Alive 4 I like simply because it’s a 3D beat-em-up I can play online. That’s it’s one new thing—fighting with gamers on the other side of the world instead of fighting the computer. Love it. Amped 3 I like because I don’t have to try and complete any sort of tasks or levels if I don’t want to. As a chillout game, carving about the slopes is just perfect. It’s one of those games where the controls just feel right and there’s a lot of satisfaction to be had from that.
From the Live Arcade, if you haven’t downloaded Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved then you are quite frankly insane. It’s the best piece of old-school twitch gaming in years. I play it more often than any of the full-price games I own.
I’m surprised by how good the new Tomb Raider game is. Controlling Lara suddenly feels like playing the Prince in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. She flows nicely, and feels effortless to play. Shame about some of the level design, mind.

| Re: The X-Box 360 Games Thread (Moaning, Chatter, Hype & Release Dates) Fair do’s, I’m sure it is. Enough folk I trust have told me so … just doesn’t appeal to me at all, it’s not my kind of game.
I’ve been playing a lot of Me & My Katamari on PSP this week anyway, haven’t touched the 360 apart from trying out the Tomb Raider demo level (and getting in a couple of rounds of Geometry Wars while I had it switched on).

| Re: The X-Box 360 Games Thread (Moaning, Chatter, Hype & Release Dates) I still don't understand why games are 50 quid for it. I mean Football Manager is > 40 quid , and I can get it for buttons on the PC.
I wouldn't touch most of these games even with my discount , for example with Tomb Raiders consistant Slow Down I just can't warrent 50 quid for a game that the programers havent spent more time tweaking.

| Re: The X-Box 360 Games Thread (Moaning, Chatter, Hype & Release Dates) Aye, the prices'll go down though. I remember PS2 games costing £45 and now they're nearer £30, plus I'm a patient dude. I can wait for games out right now to go down in price or get them second hand. I'm just looking for my next "big buy". Rockstar's Table Tennis maybe. £25 & out on May the 26th. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/spor...reenindex.html |

| Re: The X-Box 360 Games Thread (Moaning, Chatter, Hype & Release Dates) Darth Vader & Indy coming to the 360. http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/10731/...sole-Near-You/ Quote:
The Amherst Times has confirmed the development of a next-gen Indiana Jones and that the long-time rumored Darth Vader video game is also in the works. In an editorial that covers the latest happenings at LucasArts, the newspaper reported:
Their excitement was palpable on a recent afternoon, when Mr. Ward, Mr. Hirschmann and Haden Blackman, the project leader of a forthcoming "Star Wars" game, reviewed all of the company's recent projects. Mr. Blackman outlined a new storyline that delved deeper into Darth Vader's history.
Mr. Hirschmann later demonstrated a test game, shouting and jumping each time a storm trooper tumbled onscreen, the character barely catching his fingers on the pixel ledge. And he gleefully explained how researchers had tracked down images of San Francisco buildings from 1915 for the future Indiana Jones game.
That pretty much confirms the development of both games and we expect LucasArts to unveil these games at next month’s E3.

| Re: The X-Box 360 Games Thread (Moaning, Chatter, Hype & Release Dates) One game release that’s annoying me: Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon is due for release on 360, just as the next Broken Sword game is coming to Windows PCs.
My prediction: The majority of Broken Sword fans have already completed The Sleeping Dragon on PS2 or PC ages ago, so won’t buy the 360 version. The publishers deduce that there’s no market for such adventures on the 360, so the new one doesn’t get ported at all.

| Re: The X-Box 360 Games Thread (Moaning, Chatter, Hype & Release Dates) Test Drive Unlimited looks like it'll be insanely good & I'm not that big a driving game fan. Features

* More than 125 licensed vehicles from exclusive manufacturers including Lamborghini, Ducati, Aston Martin, Mercedes, Saleen, Shelby, and Jaguar.

* Personalisation: upgrade each car or bike with options from the actual manufacturers' catalogue. Players create characters, buy new homes and garages, and tune and upgrade vehicles with aftermarket parts.
* Create challenges or races from more than 50 game rules and settings. Upload your created challenges online to become part of the player community.
* A gathering of communities: Players can create or join a club to talk, chat, trade, race or organize club-based competitions and tournaments.
* Simplified match making and division based rankings make this game the most comprehensive and accessible online racing experience.
Out on fucking September the 29th though.
If this game doesn't turn out to be a big marketpoints scam I'll get it.
And of course it's been announced the 360 will host The Sopranos: The Game. Not watched the program much but...bit of a weird one. |

I played Kamo, or whatever it's called, in GameStation the other day and found it to be a moderately entertaining wee platformer, mind you, but overall I can't predict ever getting a 360. The X-Box has come and gone without me ever feeling even reasonably tempted to think about picking one up, I can't imagine it'll be much different with the 360. Overpriced piece of junk with the fun factor of a concrete slab, by the look of it.

| Re: The X-Box 360 Games Thread (Moaning, Chatter, Hype & Release Dates) EA Sports games come out for every platform last time I looked. The PS3 and the Wii will have them, where as Halo is a good budget game. The 360 is probably the best console experience I've had in my adult life (I've cut the blab about which consoles I own/ed). X-Box Live is a joy to behold, the Arcade games like Zuma, Astro Pop, Smash TV, Gauntlet (Streetfighter II Turbo with XBL ability will be out this summer BTW) are fantastic and will only get better as the choice grows. The free downloadable demos are crackers too. The only thing wrong with the 360 is that the backwards compatible games feature is tacked on & it'll be rare you confidently buy an X-Box game without having to check to see if it's backwards compatable first.
So the PS3 is probably going to steal the XBL function & set up their own online content. It'll take them at least a year to smooth out the bugs & get a good community on the go. Wii? I'll probably be getting one anyway. |

The stuff that X-Box fans always rant on about never seems to be anything that is exclusive to the X-Box, and in fact there are 0 games exclusive to the X-Box that I would even consider looking twice at. Which is why I'm not a fan of the console - Nintendo and Sony consoles generally have all the decent X-Box games available for them too, plus a SHITLOAD more even better games. I just don't see the attraction to X-Boxes, I try to see it but I can't. The only possible attraction is that they're "technically powerful", but I have a PC for that kind of thing. They're pretty hideous lookin' things, to boot. But here, whatever floats yer boat mate.

| Re: The X-Box 360 Games Thread (Moaning, Chatter, Hype & Release Dates) I don’t know of any online multiplayer 3D beat-em-ups apart from DoA4, which is a 360 exclusive.
The Live Arcade version of SF2, when it finally arrives, will be the only Capcom fighter I know of that lets you play online against other people.
I’m sure other consoles will get online multiplayer fighting games too, eventually … but there ain’t any yet.
