...periodic table. I want to start collecting elements.
Little vials, mounted on a rack (in order), with actual examples of each element in them. I've made a half-arsed start with some iron and some copper. Clearly a complete collection is entirely unrealistic but how far do you reckon I could feasibly get?

I'm not too sure..as some of that stuff you dont want hanging aroud on a shelf. But a good idea all the same.

Yes. I filmed the test too. I'll upload it at some point. It wasn't affected by 8M hydrochloric acid, while in a similar test some aluminium foil had it's shit ruined. That bodes well. It isn't conclusive though.

Aye you can, I've been playing with mercury in the lab, it's so much fun!! Being a postgrad in chemistry does have it's uses!

Random but interesting idea of collecting the periodic table! I like it!

Hafnium

Apparently fine particles of Hafnium will spontaneously ignite in air. Resulting in a phenomenon known as "dragon's breath" at some factories which machine Hafnium.
