| Re: Offensive jokes The humour is derieved from saying something that you shouldn't, something inappropriate, most decent humour is derived from either out and out slapstick or the former.
Like "Ohmigod they didn't just say that did they" then either laughter or offence.

| Re: Offensive jokes people who get upset about diana/mcann/whatever jokes are the same people who cry over the deaths of celebrities they've never met, in my opinion it's fine for it to have some kind of effect on you because after all we're only human, but crying about it like somebody just shot your dog in the face then shat on it is taking things too far

| Re: Offensive jokes I don't find them offensive cos it has nothing to do with me. I just won't laugh at them cos I don't find them funny. I don't find 2 young boys dying in a helicopter funny. I don't think people who laugh at them would find them funny either if it was their kids or it was their kid who was kidnapped. I don't think their day would be a bundle of laughs and texes to their friends about it. |

"If we didn't laugh we'd cry" etc etc. It's found quite often in constructionist health research when Men, discussing relatively serious health issues, will use humour in their narrative to 'lighten the mood'.

| Re: Offensive jokes I have no problem with offensive jokes. A lot of the Maddie ones have been pretty funny. Haven't seen any decent Colin McRae ones though.
As to why I find them funny, it's probably because I don't really give a damm about maddie/princess di/whoever else. |

| Re: Offensive jokes The more offensive the better, life is a joke at times. Id laugh at someone telling me a joke informing me i was dying. Just me though.
Only thing that pisses me off is the same joke time after time where the names change but still same joke. |

| Re: Offensive jokes I find the implication that women have less of a broad sense of humour than men quite offensive, and can't imagine laughing at people joking about it.
If satire, even crap satire, offends you then you've missed the point. |

I like an offensive joke as much as the next man, but I'm not going to laugh just because "ooh, isn't he risque for saying that".
