If satire, even crap satire, offends you then you've missed the point. | I dont see it as being narrow, jusdt refined

| Re: Offensive jokes I've said this many a time before, but I'm more amused by people who get overly offended and then feel the need to get on their moral high horse, rather than any actual joke in and of itself.

| Re: Offensive jokes I don't think I've ever heard a joke I've been offended by. I laugh at things that have personally effected me like cancer etc. I can't really explain why I'm not offended, I'm just...not. In particular with things that have effected me I find it's quite helpful to laugh at them, helps to get over stuff. |

Refinement is subjective, and thus only applies on a person-to-person basis.
Jokes are either funny or not funny to me, the subject matter is almost entirely a secondary concern. |

| Re: Offensive jokes If it's a funny, witty premise then being risque or close to the bone can add to that.
It has to rest on a foundation of wit.
The exception is jokes, for example racist jokes, which are witless but funny due to thet absurdity of the concept or event they describe. |

Based on an ignorant premise maybe. |

Yeah, there are loads of witty racist jokes but racism (as an example) also offers the opportunity of being funny through laughing at the absurdity of the concept, even if the "joke" is completely witless. |

Jokes are either funny or not funny to me, the subject matter is almost entirely a secondary concern. | Well, most of my female friends dont approve, most of my guy mates laugh, thats what I based it on, if you find that you've found evidence to the contrary, call me on it. Hence why I said 'Ive found that...'
