| Re: Offensive jokes You yourself said you'd laugh at a joke about someone blonde, but wouldn't laugh at a joke about a dead git.
Its a fairly common attitude, it just confuses me. |

| Re: Offensive jokes I have to take issue with you Rachael. The Monty Python team got some right good laughs out of Graham Chapmans' death. I remember in particular John Cleese explaining it wasn't that unfortunate that Graham couldn't make the reunion as he was "stone fucking dead". That whole skit was genius

| Re: Offensive jokes Doesnt mean i have more respect for the dead person. Blonde people laugh at blonde jokes if theyre funny. I laugh at fat jokes if theyre funny.
Dead people cant laugh, and Im fairly sure their families wouldnt either. Thats where the respect attitude comes from.

| Re: Offensive jokes Making jokes about dead people is how their family and friends deal with the loss I tend to find. Whether or not the dead person finds it funny is irrelevant, its not like you're telling jokes behind their back, they're dead.
I think you're just a little squeamish, which is fine. |

I'll make jokes out of tragedies until my face falls off, I wouldn't make a mockery of a tragedy.

Again, this seems to be a pretty common attitude, I just think its down to basic squeamishness rather than anything else. |
