| London Mayor Elections Boris or Ken?
Boris is terrifyingly in the lead in all polls.
Won't affect the vast vast majority of people on the forum directly, but it is a fairly important election.
Maybe if Boris gets in he will only fuck up so bad it'll hurt the Tories.

| Re: London Mayor Elections As someone wrote in yesterday's Observer: Boris can't just screw this up and then say "Oh cripes!" like he normally does. This is serious business.
But I think Londoners might be fed up and looking for a change after 8 years of being in Keningrad. |

| Re: London Mayor Elections I understand that corruption at City Hall and Cronyism have rocked Ken Livingstone's campaign. I need some convincing that a prime example of the OBN is the individual to tackle these problems.

I mind he was running for Uni of Edinburgh's chancellor or something a couple of years ago, did he get it?

| Re: London Mayor Elections Boris is hilarious, his have I got news for you appearances were brilliant.
However, if he gets voted in it'll be a bad day for london. Hopefully whacky (sorry) students won't acctually vote for the comedy value, as its acctually quite important.
This could be the equivilant of voting for the monster raving looney party (for the LOLZ) then acctually having to live with a right wing mayor, who will reverse all of kens progressive enviromental policy.

| Re: London Mayor Elections Ken did fantastic work with the GLC when I lived in London, and i was delighted to see him back in office.
Having seen thatcher systematically dismantle all that good work, it'll be a real kick in the teeth to see a tory beat Ken in this election, but i expect he will.
Boris is funny and charming, not what I'd put at the top of the list of important qualities for a mayoral candidate, but taht combined with a general dis-satisfaction with labour will make it pretty hard for Ken to win I think. Seperating the work from the man - and Ken has never been personally popular - seems to be too much for electorates.
