No offence to anyone that works in a bank, least you're not a debt collector. |
They have no legal obligation to give anyone a refund or waiver tho. They do it out of the kindness of their black hearts. |

| Re: Pence Over Overdraft Limit - Refund? Balls, the charges were a rip-off (And illegal in this country I hasten to add.) to start with, and now they're paying through the nose for better PR.
I've worked for a few banks in my time, phone banking isn't the worst callcentre job, but its still a little soul destroying after a while. |

It's going through the courts just now. A lot of banks have completely stopped refunding charges until a decision is made.

| Re: Pence Over Overdraft Limit - Refund? I know, which again is nonsense:
ME: So what is your policy on this?
BANK: Uh, theres a few test cases going on at the moment and we're waiting for the outcome of those.
ME: Sorry, I mean whats your policy now, as in 'right' now?
BANK: Mmnotsure...
ME: I beg your pardon.
BANK: Donno...
ME: Well, you must have a policy on overdrafts in order to keep supplying them surely?
BANK: That does sound a bit funny actually, uhhhh, would you like to speak to a manager?
ME: Please.
I'm not sure if the bank of scotland automatically give refunds to people who ask awkward questions (Politely mind.) but it certainly seemed to do the trick. |
