| Graduation Woes My mother graduated today. I was at the ceremony. Here are woes of said circumstance;
#1 Babies. Why bring a crying youngster to an event like this? It's bullshit. The kid gets nothing out of it, they wont remember it, and the only effect they'll have is to annoy the fucking 1, 000 other students/family/friends. Kids will cry. That's their modus operandi. Get a fucking sitter and give both the youngling and the people a fucking break. If you can't get a sitter, when you know the date months in advance, too bad. Fuck off.
#2 Whoopin' Holler'n Idiots. When someone you know's name is called. Have some fucking sense of circumstance and appropriate behavior. Do not fucking cheer. You are not at bingo. I hate this fucking shit so much. Loudmouth arse-holes have to let it be known that they are friends / family to the student gettin' their certificate. I'd take such a reddie if that happened to me. Ugh. Shut the fuck up.
Aside from that, carry on.
Oh, and fuck bag-pipes. They sound horrendous 100% of the time.

| Re: Graduation Woes Here Pete, where was she graduating from and what course?
I have to admit, my HND graduation was a smaller, more personal ceremony than the cattle-herding anti-climax of the degree graduation! Plus the HND grad was in the Barony Hall, gorgeous place and just seemed more fitting. The whooping and hollering fitted right in and added a great atmosphere as most folk knew each other.
I found that at the degree ceremony, it is all best wishes and congrats, but its well impersonal so its a stony applause, where whooping and hollering IS annoying because there are so many folk graduating, there is less chance of you knowing them.
...thats about it!
