Entertaining Americans in Glasgow

Right, i've been put in charge of entertaining some americans over the next few days, and as they're considering moving over here, they want me to show them around glasgow a bit. So where do i take them? I need to find things to entertain them in the day as well as places to eat at night. There's a physicist, an airy fairy californian, and their kids, two teenage girls (18 and 16) and a son (12).

I'm at a complete loss, so any suggestions at all would be welcome.

Right off I'd say the Science centre, so long as it's still open.

INT. PUB I. DAY

It's the first day of the Edinburgh Festival.
Renton, Tommy, Spud, Sick Boy and Begbie sit drinking.
They observe a young male American Tourist walk in in a bulky red anorak and
glasses. He goes past them towards the toilet.
Begbie stands up.

I'll handle the 18 year old, you take care of the rest!

eh I mean...

Kelvingrove sounds like a good shout, a trip to Stirling Castle or the Wallace monument wouldn't go a miss, Americans love all that!

Re: Entertaining Americans in Glasgow

Take then to Arisaig or The Bothy for dindins. The Bothy would be handy if yer up the west end visiting a museum full of moth-eaten stuffed animals anyway.

Re: Entertaining Americans in Glasgow

I should probably add that they are actually half scottish (properly, not pretend american scottish) and spend quite a lot of time in the rest of the country, so are vaguely sensible. They know the rest of scotland quite well, it's just glasgow they don't know.

If it's sunny i may try and drag them up there. They do know the rest of the country quite well.

I've never actually been to kelvingrove before, so i might try and persuade them there because i keep meaning to go.

I'm also thinking of taking them to potter around the west end. Uni for my uncle, shops for my aunt, coffee shops for the teenagers and we'll amuse the youngest one somehow. More child friendly restaurants there too. I'm really struggling to think of good child friendly restaurants in the city centre.

Re: Entertaining Americans in Glasgow

Surely at age 12, you dont need to rely on a child-friendly restaurant.
