i'm with scapey on this- they are to be watched.
i've started doing what my other half does and ask them for their street traders license- about 2 weeks ago one of them went into his pocket and brought me out the picture from his passport (which had been ripped out from the rest of the book!). i told him i would give him 50 pence for a rose and i wouldnt tell the authorities lol

When I was in Fuengirolla a bunch of old Spanish women selling roses surrounded me and started trying to take money out of my pockets.
There is no warning attached. | |

pure reminds me of working abroad. They shit themselves when they see the police and bolt in all directions.
When youre on holiday you always end up more drunk. which is silly coz youre in a foreign country with strangers. But the street rose/flashy things sellers just follow you to figure out where you were keeping your money and then would simply pick pocket it from you.
I dont know how many ppl ive told "keep away from them" this just goes to show that i was right.
I dunno if its just me, but it just pisses me off to see these ppl wondering about selling shite to drunk ppl. If they have no license why dont the police do something?? | |

People tried it with my parents in Ibiza in the 70's and almost every time I've been to Spain (or one of the neighbouring islands) I've seen it happen to someone. I just thought more people were aware of it and already knew to avoid people selling roses or trying to thrust "lucky heather" into their hands. | |

hahaha i was in town and the "lucky heather" ppl put heather into the hands of someone i was walking with.. when we continued walking she went nuts running after us, grabbing the heather back and explaining it wasnt free...
why give it out then?
its a bit like "oooh put this watch on, itll look good on you" *refuses to take watch back* "20 euros...20 euros!!!"  | |

I also know of a girl who suspected a flower seller of stealing her phone after a night out. She was sitting down in the take-a-way and the guy came over offering whilst her phone was on the table, and as they refused he persisted and put them down on the table. He made a sharp exit afterwards and then she realised her phone was gone.
Probably not helped by the fact that she was drunk and left her phone lying there, but still...
