But it has to be during a Queen + Paul Rodgers gig so he can make an unexpected flamboyant entrance, shove a microphone up Rodgers' arse and remind the world how it's done.
I dream of nights like this. |

| Re: If you could bring a dead rock star back to life Simple question but I dunno quite how to answer it.
The most recent death of a "legend" that has been of inspiration to me would be Dimebag. Has been a Pantera fan since I was a wee guy, had seen them and had met Dime and got his autograph and that, what a guy. His death, like many was unfair and untimely.
Thing is but, when someone dies in the music industry, they kinda seem to go out on a high. Like, look at Cliff Burton dying in 1986 vs maybe James Hetfield dying today, y'know what I mean. I like all of Metallica's stuff but it's entirely different music.
If someone like Hendrix was to be "brought back to life", you never know if the stuff he'd do would be of the same caliber or have the same vibe. Timing has a lot to do with it.
A bit all over the place with this coz I'm tired, but if a lot of the greats didn't die, would they be the greats?

| Re: If you could bring a dead rock star back to life Nah, the audience think far too fucking much of their opinion, it comes down to whether the artist in question loves making music first and foremost, or is just a showman who wants to be loved. If its the former it seems likely that they'll do whatever the hell they want to musically rather than try to follow expectations and turn into fat Vegas Elvis.
If its the latter, they're probably better off dead. |
