Why is this news? How has this atrocious human being managed to keep herself in the admittedly rather dim limelight for this to even be reported?

Not funny, I'd laugh if she got scurvy or ringworm or had an elephant dropped on her head from a helicopter (Maybe even if it was clitoral cancer or something I could get a laugh out of it) but just cancer?

It's on BBC News top stories.
I guess she is a public figure, whether one likes it or not. The majority have spoken, and the majority have declared an interest in the minutiae of her life.

It's cervical cancer, so you're pretty close. About 8-10cm close.

annoying and pointless as her presence is, she's still a young woman with children who is now facing a lot of medical treatment. Maybe she'll just stay out of the limelight until she recovers

Cervical cancer? Might explain why this is a top story - Z-list celeb gets the thing that they're all talking about now due to the new HPV vaccine. Wouldn't wish it on anyone as it's such a terrible disease, but I'm neither a fan nor an acquaintance of the woman so I can't admit to any personal, deep-seated, unutterable grief. Hope it doesn't end her, though.

Cancer has the potential to be hilarious, I just don't think Jade Goody has the media savvy or PR smarts to exploit it to the fullest.

Most of the posts on other boards I've read are along the lines of "THERE IS A GOD!" and "let's hope it's terminal", which is more interesting than the story itself.
