I drive around the city centre through the night on a regular basis and have had nothing but shit driving and aggression from them. If my car didn't have such effective brakes I would reconsider whether I drove in town at night because of them.

I agree, for every decent driver theres an idiot, the same can be said for customers though. For every decent customer theres about 10 customer who act like idiots.

Ive lost count of the horror stories drivers have told me about idiot punters being violent, agressive, rude, cheeky, arrogant...all because of some guy, doing a job and running them home, wouldnt want their job for anything.

It was bad enough being a controller for a taxi company getting absolute verbal abuse, never mind being the driver at the other end.

I live just off Great Western Road. I drive every day and am often in the city centre at night. I encounter lots of taxis on a daily basis.

You live in a provincial town. It's a reasonable assumption to make that you don't encounter as many taxis as I do on a daily basis, thus have less experience of dealing with them.

I'm not scared to drive into town at night. I do it almost every night. I would reconsider doing so if I had less reliable brakes given that taxi drivers often stop suddenly without warning to pick people up.
