Alzheimer's Scotland, Rape Crisis, Nordoff-Robbins is a pretty good shout, i'd forgotten bout them.
Forbes, might be worth having a look at www.intelligentgiving.com, indepedent assessor of most charities.

Quarriers - do a lot of great work and are a charity doing a lot in the West of Scotland, plus not as fashionable as others so really worth a shout. Amnesty International - need no justification Shelter - tackling homelessness is especially important with levels of repossessions and evictions going up Oxfam - still doing great work all over the world and also focussing on tackling poverty in the uk
