| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies Interest charges for overdrafts? Not a problem, fits the true definition of an overdraft as a short term (theoretically) micro-loan.
Daily charges on top of that? Fuck right off you utter cunts. Guess I'm sticking with RBS a few years longer then! |

| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies Is it with all accounts? I've just got a Student Current Account, but I'm recently no longer qualified as a student. I've checked all my online documents and nothing has been mentioned.

| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies told me today i would find out about it in october. the way she worded it (albeit in brief convo) was as if you would be charged just for being in it.
she did mention another account but as soon as i told her i wasnt working she told me to come back when i was.

| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies This must be an actual joke. I'm deep into my 1000 overdraft limit... and I can't see me getting out of it, especially without a full time job. So I'll be charged £1 per day for the forseeable future?! Jesus Christ.

Rubbish.

Either way, it's a pure joke. | The reward account at £12.50/month gives you £300 free overdraft, then £1/day.
Theres no interest charges on it, but £1/day when in an authorised overdraft (up to about £2500 when it goes up to something else), £5/day for unauthorised overdraft (presumably with fees on top).
The new free account is the same but without the £300 free overdraft. Both pay £5/month if you pay in over £1000/month.
They may well be switching folk over onto this, but at the moment people on older accounts get the same deal they had previously.

Guess I'm sticking with RBS a few years longer then! | I'm pretty sure its not an additional charge, you no longer pay a percentage, just £1/day. Which means the folk just going overdrawn (like me, this month I went to -£14) will get shaftet, but it probably works out better for those sitting on huge overdrafts.

It's true for Reward Current Accounts.
Mine was a Student Current, but I think it's a reward current.
I was sitting here thinking it's a lot, but Lovey just pointed out it's £30 a month and when you say it like that, it sounds fuck all.
There are no charges on top of the £1 a day.
Means I'll just move my savings in to cover it, or simply stop living the life of luxury off the arse end of my overdraft.

| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies Surely's there's some sort of limit on how long they can keep slapping on the quid charge, though?
My mate is with A&L and he says they charge 50p per day for being overdrawn, but it's for a max of ten days per month, or some shit
My BoS acct is the older bog-standard current account (got it in 2000), however I'm OD'd to fuck, and don't see myself as being able to clamber out of it until after I get back from being overseas next month... another in a long line of bullshitterisms they're going to pull, no doubt ;/

| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies Mine was paid off then I went all "Ah to hell with it I've got a year before I start paying interest!" and got a holiday/xbox/a billion clothes. Relieved I never put a deposit down on that flat I saw now! Bullet dodged.
I can get out of it, I just don't want the bank to swallow all my heard earned cash YET.
