| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies I was totally outraged at first, but you can see why they are doing it as people sit in thousands of pounds worth of debt, clogging up money they could be investing elsewhere.
I don't think its right, still hate the utter fuck out of the idea but understand why its happening.

| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies From what the boyf has told me(this is what he said its along the lines of they will chrg more on usage of the overdraft facility, chrg something like £5 per day for being overdrawn (over your overdraft facility) and remove the large chrgs of £35,30 etc..

| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies I have a Graduate Account with a free overdraft up to (I think) £1800. I've been needing it just now to pay for courses and other important expenses, so I'm something like £1000 overdrawn - as it's a free overdraft I assume I don't have to pay this... Do I? Kinda crapping it if I do.
**edit** Never mind, I just re-read the first post and I initially missed the fact that it was in December. I'll be out of it by then

| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies Doing the math, you'd only benefit if you owed more than £2200 on your overdraft on average.
I guess its because a lot of people bounce into the overdraft by a few quid and sit there for a while racking up literally pennies in interest.

| Re: Bank of scotland customers: changes to overdraft policies Wait, so it's only if you're over your arranged OD?
£20 a day is fucking horrendous. Every time I think about changing banks, I always wind up changing my mind.
Although if I can upgrade my Nationwide acct, I might give BoS the heave-ho.
