I'm pretty sure that if/when I happen upon any creature that resembles a spider, I will, at no point, question it's species to determine wether or not I shall fear it. Fear will ensue regardless.  |

There was a stealth spider in my sink this morning. Huge fucker 
I always check my bath and when there were none there I was lulled into a false sense of security. At 5.30am the morning after a beer festival that was selling lethal 10% treacley beer, my senses were clearly down and out. Maybe I should let myself be be bitten to raise my spider sense up.

Apparently the average human eats at least 8-10 spiders in their lifetime; usually in their sleep. One of my closest bitches spent nearly 7 months in Afghanistan not that long ago and had a couple of wild pictures of heee-yooooge camel spiders. They looked like big doubler mutant thingy-majigs! Imagine waking up with one of them on your face (which didnt actually happen to him), and hunners of unusual looking insects in your sealed (and fucking bullet-proof!!) ration boxes (which did happen)..even mice got in, apparently!
Personally, Ive never held any grudges against spiders; were cool.
Spotted a pretty big one in Germany last week though, while I was on the phone, walking towards the U-bahn
I took a photie with it, while I was nattering:  
I called him Friedrich

Aye, true. It's actually just an urban myth that started back in the 1950s and then it was restarted a few years ago to test gullibility, and see if people would believe it...

After a bit of research I've decided that the spider I previously posted isn't Ethel but is probably a male. Thus, he's to be called Herbert. I think he's searching for love right now, it being mating season and all, and he is sporting some rather swollen appendages. 
Phwoar, check out the pedipalps on that. 
He was on the wall next to my dresser last night. Started ambling off after I battered him with the flash, which is understandable when you have more than two eyes to get blinded.
His leg span is just shorter than the length of my palm, for reference. Absolute beaut.
