| Owner of Mono, Stereo, Flying Duck and the 78 in liquidation (again) Source: http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/d..._rates_row.php
Heard about this down the pub yesterday. As some people may already know the owner has a reputation for going into voluntary liquidation, escaping debts, then re-opening the venues with slightly different names (ala 13th Note back when he owned it, doesn't anymore). According to this news article he owes almost £200k to creditors and was about to do it again, but the Council are having none of it this time. They've moved for compulsory winding up and appointed a liquidator.
It appears the venues will be staying open for the foreseeable future, but it looks likely that the group will be split up and sold to different owners unless someone puts in a bid for them all as a package.
He probably should have sold some chicken or something.

| Re: Owner of Mono, Stereo, Flying Duck and the 78 in liquidation (again) yeah was reading about this in the Herald this morning, apparently he owes lots of VAT and PAYE from his previous exploits too. They had a statement where he said the council were being arsey and he'd made perfectly reasonable repayment suggestions over a 36 month period which they'd rejected.
I don't know why, but I didn't realise he owned Flying Duck |

| Re: Owner of Mono, Stereo, Flying Duck and the 78 in liquidation (again) i was in the 78 a few weeks and it was pretty shambolic - to the point where i didn't actually manage to get food or a drink out of them despite my efforts to give them money.

| Re: Owner of Mono, Stereo, Flying Duck and the 78 in liquidation (again) To quote Stuart from Mogwai: “The city of Glasgow owes a lot to Craig Tannock as he has been and still is a huge conduit for the city’s vibrant music scene. This article is an utter disgrace and nothing more than a hatchet job. Shame on the Evening Times for printing such tripe. I have no doubt whatsoever that there other businesses in the city which have offered the city far less and owe far more.”
It’s that last part that I’d like to echo. Why pick out Craig and why now? Because he’s a relatively high profile, and relatively easy, target. I smell political point scoring. Quote:

What’s needed is a kind-hearted investor who can afford to treat it as a hobby. That’s what they had in the past and are lacking now.

| Re: Owner of Mono, Stereo, Flying Duck and the 78 in liquidation (again) Aye, I’m sure the City Council (or Councillor Matheson’s office) put out the same press release to all the usual media outlets.
