See those mad geometrical straight lines? Those are the tracks of NASA's Mars rover robot "Opportunity" which landed on the planet in 2004.
If anyone tells me this is not cool I will have to employ strong language to disagree with them. 
And here is Opportunity's pics of the remains of the pod that carried it to the surface... 
And here's an other pic Opportunity took while out patrolling around...
