| Edinburgh Fringe Festival Just got the programme today. Any tips on what's worth checking out? I'd rather go see the lesser known (cheap!) shows. http://www.edfringe.com/ |

| Re: Edinburgh Fringe Festival I'm away to see the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain, because they're amazing (playing every night in the Pleasance Courtyard, if I remember correctly).
Aside form that, I'll probably do my usual of taking one day out to sit in the courtyard/bar of one of the bigger venues, popping in and out of whatever shows look interesting. Usually makes for a 50/50 split of good and shite stuff over the course of a day and night.

| Re: Edinburgh Fringe Festival I got cheap tickets for the Bill Bailey and Alan Davies show (The Odd Couple) on one of the preview days they have (5th and 6th, i think, everything tends to be half price or there abouts). I don't have the guide in front of me, but I have a bunch more things circled that looked good. I'll post them later. |

| Re: Edinburgh Fringe Festival My friend went to the burlesque thing at the spiegel last year, said it was very good. I mean to go this year, funds permitting.
Saw Dark Horse, Indiana at the Pleasance the other day. It's a play set in the future where hetorsexuality is becoming outlawed, its more than a little graphic and fairly dark; think The Handsmaids Tail or 1984. Pretty good.
Didn't enjoy The Odd Couple that much, but my friend loved it. Still, seen Bill Bailey in person which is rockin'. |

| Re: Edinburgh Fringe Festival My mate has so far recommended the no fit state circus on leith walk and east coast chicken supper at the traverse. I'm going to see these next week.
I really like Daniel Kitson's stand up, saw him a few times a couple of years ago, also Simon Munnery, although I'm not sure if he's doing anything this year as I haven't checked, but he usually does a couple of fringe things.
If you can make it, Late And Live can be quite good fun, it's on from about 1am to 5am or some other stupid o'clock in the morning, you get about 4/5 comedians for your money, usually fairly big names on the fringe, I think who it is depends on the night. Everyones usually very drunk by this point which is fun. |
