| Re: Edinburgh Hogmanay '05 I'll be tucked up in bed this Hogmanay since I'm working at 7am on January 1st. Mind you, after waiting for over 3hrs in a taxi queue after the catty last year, bed is the preferred choice. |

| Re: Edinburgh Hogmanay '05 An event like this need something for everyone, well as much as possible.
Id like to see a band that plays classic songs for drunk folk to dance to. Maybe the Proclaimers?
Maybe an oldie like Elvis costello or Burt Bacharach for the older folk and a slower pace early in the evening.
There needs to be some pop for the kids. how about Girls Aloud? that also keeps the blokes happy inbetween
As a headliner there should be someone that everyone knows, whos songs can be sung and danced to. Robbie Williams?
No offence to Texas but they are past it. I may not have noticed one, but have they had a hit in the UK in the last couple of years? Just because they're Scottish doesnt mean that everyone likes them.
Dont get me wrong tho im into probably some of the same stuff that you are but I totally understand that they couldnt have zz-top and Whitesnake headlining. |

| Well, the whole idea is too keep it 'reasonably' up beat..it is supposed to be a party after all.. Quote: |

| Well, it's not a bad choise apart from three reasons...
1 - They cant actually sing live worth a toss
2 - A group like that usually insists on bringing quite a big production with them, there just isnt the room for it in the gardens
3 - They're still pretty much a 'novelty' act in most people's eyes, mostly for teenage girls. Quote: |

| Someone like Robbie is actually TOO big to be playing, there just isnt enough space down in the gardens for all the fans, which leads to massive security problems. Also, I think he's a bit outside the budget. Quote: |

| Well, last year was Blondie, no hits in the last Decade, pretty much the same as Erasure the year before. Quote: |

| There's alot more goes into making these desicions than most people think...

| Re: Edinburgh Hogmanay '05 I've not even thought about Hogmany. I think the bf wants to go back down to his Dad's this year but I'm not sure what I fancy.
In all honesty,in my 22 years every Hogmany bar last has been a total disappointment! |
