| Re: Connect Festival at Inverary Castle First festival where I've actually bothered to check out the unsigned bands stage, mainly because it was well placed. Only things that were wrong with the place was the distance to the car park and the small number of toilets at the camp site.
It was like Beautiful Days on a larger scale. The rain and mud didn't even seem to bother anyone because we were all having too much fun. The mud definitely added to the fun in the campsite, 100+ people all saying shhhh is definitely a funny thing to hear. Quote: |

| Re: Connect Festival at Inverary Castle Mogwai were stunning. Their sound was infinitely better than Primal Scream's.
Mogwai were FLAC, the Scream were a 96kbps mp3.
In fact the sound was brilliant in general, best I've heard at a festival in a while.
I was told that Mogwai may be playing a gig by a waterfall in Ayrshire. Sounds superb but there is no news about it available anywhere that I've seen so far. We're gonna go to that. |

| Re: Connect Festival at Inverary Castle Ill never understand why an hour of what sounds like the EXACT SAME song entertains folk, but hey, each to their own.

| Re: Connect Festival at Inverary Castle that was fucking class!
highlights were the Ads, SFA, Mogwai, LCD, Bjork. and sambayabamba.
the teepees were rather slick indeed.
i heard from quite a few that the beasties were shite. and my mates left after a few tracks suspecting they were miming a lot.
the food was yum.
although £3.50 a pint constitutes rape in my books. |

The food was actually fairly reasonably priced. Not at the burger stalls but at the proper food tents (which were fantastic, there should be more proper food tents at festivals).
I had a big bowl of moules mariniere (surely a festival first) with a large chunk of fresh crusty bread for £4 on the Saturday. On the Sunday I had the most amazing haggis, neeps and tatties I've had in a long time. Again, a decent serving with whisky poured all over it. |
