| Re: Sonic Youth performing Daydream Nation [in Glasgow] Ooooooh.
I've seen them once before and was expecting a chaotic free form jazz explosion, but they were unbelievably tight. This is a must!

| Re: Sonic Youth performing Daydream Nation [in Glasgow] I've been telling loads of people they must go to this,
an there all like, yeah, but I don't know sonic youth all that well, then i just say, just listen to daydream nation, thats all there playing, might make shit loads of copies of daydream nation.
The weird thing is, I saw sonic Youth at T in the park when i was about 16 or 17, I really didn't like them that much back then though, the only album i had heard was daydream nation, I thought it was crap and all the songs sounded the same, how much has my opinion changed since then, quite a lot, quite a fucking lot. |

| Re: Sonic Youth performing Daydream Nation [in Glasgow] DAYDREAM NATION 2xCD/4XLP DELUXE EDITION AVAILABLE JUNE 12 FEATURING UNRELEASED LIVE MATERIAL AND RARE COVERS
Hailed by Rolling Stone as one of 'The 500 Greatest Albums of All-Time' and honored as one of the first 200 albums chosen by the Library of Congress to be included in the National Recording Registry for their historic, cultural or aesthetic importance, Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation will be issued by Geffen Records in a two-disc Deluxe Edition with bonus tracks, new liner notes, and unseen band photos on June 12, 2007 and on a super-special 4-disc vinyl set issued by the band's own Goofin' Records.
Disc One features the original 1988 album, remastered from the original tapes under the band's supervision, plus a bonus home demo of 'Eric's Trip.' The 'Live Daydream' Disc two, comprised largely of previously unreleased tracks, features 15 live tracks from the band's 'Daydream Nation' Tour. Culled from performances at several venues including hallowed grounds such as CBGB's in New York and The Paradiso in Amsterdam, 'Live Daydream' includes live versions of every song on the original album. Added to that are four studio bonuses: 'Within You, Without You,' from Sgt. Pepper Knew My Father - an NME-sponsored charity Beatles Tribute album, 'Computer Age' from the critically-acclaimed Neil Young tribute album The Bridge; 'Electricity' from the Captain Beefheart tribute album Fast And Bulbous, and a cover of Mudhoney's 'Touch Me, I'm Sick,' originally released as a Sub Pop single. The complete tracklist is here.
The bonus materials are an aural treat for the discerning aficionado and the casual listener alike, and provide new insight into an album widely considered to be Sonic Youth's watershed moment. Celebrating the re-release of Daydream Nation, the band will perform the entire album live at several select shows in North America and Europe. Confirmed dates (with others to be announced) on the calendar page. www.sonicyouth.com

| Re: Sonic Youth performing Daydream Nation [in Glasgow] So cool! £24 is worth it just to hear and see them playing Teenage Riot
It says on the ABC site they are playing two nights, 21st & 22nd August but on the Tickets Scotland site it only has the 22nd listed and that looks sold out.
EDIT: ABC site has taken off the 21st August listing but TicketWeb says tickets for 21st August go on sale this Friday at 9am
