| Re: Gig: Korn, Flyleaf and Deathstars, 17th of January, Academy Munky has just pulled out of the poxy fucking tour. You'd think he could've waited one more damn day. Quote: |
KORN lead guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer has left the band's current European tour for both personal and family reasons. The group's frontman Jonathan Davis said in a statement, "We fully support Munky's need to be home right now and because we want to come through for all of our European fans, the tour will go on. It's what Munky wants us to do, too. We promise to give it our all every night!"
| Twenty five bucks for Jon Davis, Fieldy, some guy playing guitar behind a curtain and a drummer I've never fucking heard of. They should refund £5 for every original member that isn't there. Last time I saw this band was at Download 2006, I'm sure, when Davis didn't turn up, and THAT was a shambles. This band are determined to systemtically shatter my childhood. |

| Re: Gig: Korn, Flyleaf and Deathstars, 17th of January, Academy***tickets just released*** What was "weird" was how awesome this gig was, legit. It's always the gigs that you have low expectations for that surprise ya. Met "Jonny Davis~!!!" afterwards as well, and kept shouting his name at him like the guy from that tourettes documentary. Between meeting Jon Davis and getting a letter printed in a Spider-Man comic last year, my inner child is finally at peace. |

odd.
On the bright side, i got in for free so i ain't complaining, and i never expected to get to see korn anyway. it was just a very very good excuse to drool over the delicious H.R. Giger mic stand.
Glad you made an arse of yourself in front of one of your 'heroes' lev.. |

| Re: Gig: Korn, Flyleaf and Deathstars, 17th of January, Academy***tickets just released*** Lucky bastard I wrote a poem about/inspired by him over 10 years ago now and I've still never met him to give it to him. My niece phoned a couple of times from the gig as I couldn't go. Could hear them down the phone pretty well Quote:

| Re: Gig: Korn, Flyleaf and Deathstars, 17th of January, Academy***tickets just released*** Munky has released a statement saying that if you want to know why he left just read the lyrics to 'Watching The Wheels' by John Lennon. Srzly. People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing,
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin,
When I say that I'm o.k. they look at me kind of strange,
Surely your not happy now you no longer play the game,
People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away,
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me,
When I tell that I'm doing Fine watching shadows on the wall,
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball?
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go,
People asking questions lost in confusion,
Well I tell them there's no problem,
Only solutions,
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind,
I tell them there's no hurry...
I'm just sitting here doing time,
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go. |
