| Re: Download Festival 2008 Wit!!! Really? On the same plane? I was sittin behind Ross on the plane as well! Well I say sittin behind him, more sittin in my seat watchin him stagger to the loo puking his ring then being told by the woman to move toilets cos he was causing a disruption!
The guy sittin beside you was funny. You trapped him in his seat and the fear on his face that you were gonna puke festival all over him was so entertainin!
Never a 6am flight ever again! Was so funny though |

A month before the headliner announcements, a completely different set of bands were considered in the bag - they all pulled out. One to do their own stadium tour, one got a more enticing offer from Leeds/Reading and the other has decided not to tour this summer. These bands were so certain that Kiss were almost turned away...
Metallica were approached, but simply wanted to do Reading/Leeds this year. RATM were considered in the bag, but R/L were able to offer them 2 shows, and there has been good history between them and Reading so they took that. One of the bands was offered twice as much as anyone has ever been offered to play, and if they'd accepted tickets would have had to cost more.
| The other band being Rammstein.
Download got shafted by all 3 bands, brilliant. I can understand Metallica turning it down, having played more often than anyone else since the festival became Download. Obviously gutted about RATM, who personally I would rather were offered the "twice as much" as anyone else, as Rammstein have been nobodies for years.
Also "comedians" announced:
Weds June 11th 10.00pm
IVAN BRACKENBURY'S HOSPITAL RADIO ROADSHOW
Chris Lynam
Duncan Oakley
Jason John Whitehead
Thurs June 12th 10.00pm
CHRIS LYNAM
Gary Delaney
Rob and Skatz
Sully O'Sullivan
Fri June 13th 11.00pm
JASON ROUSE
Andrew O'Neill
Sat June 14th 11.00pm
IAN COGNITO
Greg Cook

| Re: Download Festival 2008 Sunday in the 2nd Stage there's Children of Bodom, The Wildhearts and Cavalera Conspiracy in a row, fucking dynamite.
Other than that I don't think there's two bands in a row I want to see, the line-up is actually fucking terrible when you look at it properly.
